The on-site Day Nursery provides a high standard of childcare, and is seeking an enthusiastic, task-orientated chef to join the team and provide ad-hoc cover for absences of the chef and kitchen support staff.
Duties include catering for up to fifty-nine children, assisting with food service and setting up hot food whilst ensuring hygiene standards are adhered to. Additional duties include kitchen related tasks e.g. stock control, cleaning, & storage of goods and therefore unavoidable manual handling activities will be involved.
Applicants must be well presented, courteous and have good communication skills, together with the ability to work unsupervised, and be able to interact with children & staff. The successful candidate must possess an NVQ level 2, or equivalent, in catering, hold a current basic food hygiene certificate, and some knowledge of HACCP would be advantageous. Applicants must be willing to gain and maintain a valid First Aid certificate and will be subject to an enhanced CRB check.
7.30am to 4.30pm, Monday - Friday (Hours of work will vary according to ad-hoc requirements) |
